Different types of forklift.
ClickYour possibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
These vehicles are good for tough and rough environments such as hills, rough roads and gravel paths.
Container spec forklifts
These trucks are designed to operate in a standard-height shipping unit, without the height of the container restricting the ability of the vehicle to lift. Our container-spec forklifts operate up to a 5.5 ton capacity.
Just because you are looking to hire a forklift doesn't mean that you need the highest-spec model. We have a range of budget forklift options from leading forklift brands for when you don't need the heaviest lifting. A reputable supplier will ensure that the vehicle you rent or hire is in full working order and fit for purpose.
Electric, diesel and gas forklifts
Electric forklifts are the cleanest and quietest of the forklift power options, and their efficient counterbalance helps with maneuverability. They are also low on fumes and less expensive to power. However, these trucks create charging constraints, and are less suitable for use outdoors. Forklifts that run on electricity are the most expensive to purchase. Diesel powered fork lift trucks are suitable for mainly outdoor use, and occasional indoor use. They are more powerful than their electric counterparts, but require more expensive maintenance and are noisy. LPG or gas forklifts have the highest performance rates of the different types of forklifts, are cheaper to purchase and quieter than diesel trucks, but their maintenance and fuel costs are the highest.
Reach trucks and counterbalance trucks
Counterbalance forklifts are the most common type of forklifts and can be used for the most straightforward types of lifting jobs. They are recognised by their two central forks, with no outrigging legs or arms. As the name suggests, these forklifts have a counterbalance on the back, which the electric forklift models have by way of their batteries. Reach forklift trucks, as their name suggests, are used where extra height reach is needed, and they have a counterbalance underneath. The best models will be energy efficient and include design features to enhance visibility. Both of these types of trucks are best used in indoor conditions with surface stability. edit it.
